Quiet Connections

A Private Support Pathway for Mothers & Families of Military and Veteran Suicide

Quiet Connections is a gentle, opt-in program offered by Mothers Of Veteran Suicide Corp. for mothers and families who have lost a military service member or veteran to suicide.

Many families grieve quietly and are not ready for public groups, events, or formal programs.

Quiet Connections exists to meet families where they are—offering connection, dignity, and choice.

What Quiet Connections Is

Quiet Connections is a private, consent-based way for mothers and families affected by military and veteran suicide to be gently connected with others in their local community.

There are:

  • No public directories

  • No required meetings or events

  • No expectations to participate beyond what feels comfortable

Families choose if, when, and how they would like to connect.

How It Works

Families may request support through a simple, private intake process or be referred by a trusted community partner.

When a request is received:

  • Families are acknowledged with compassion and respect

  • Optional peer connection is offered with another mother or family in the same geographic area

  • Connections are made only with mutual consent

  • Introductions are typically one-to-one or very small in scale

Quiet Connections does not operate as a group or forum and does not require ongoing participation.

Who This Program Serves

Quiet Connections supports:

  • Mothers of military and veteran suicide

  • Fathers, siblings, spouses, and grandparents

  • Caregivers of children left behind by military or veteran suicide

The program is especially helpful for families in rural or smaller communities where postvention support may be limited.

Additional Support

In addition to peer connection, families may request referrals to grief counseling, crisis support, or trusted community resources.

Quiet Connections is not a crisis intervention program. If someone is in immediate distress, professional resources—including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline—are provided.

Privacy and Care

Protecting the dignity and privacy of families is central to Quiet Connections.

  • Participation is always voluntary

  • Minimal information is collected

  • No family information is shared publicly

  • Stories are never shared without permission

Why Quiet Connections Matters

After military and veteran suicide, many families feel isolated, unseen, and unsure where to turn. Quiet Connections creates a compassionate pathway for families to know they are not alone—without pressure, visibility, or obligation.
